UK Prescription charges information
UK prescription charge exemptions.
If you live in the UK, and in particular England you are exempt from paying prescription charges for the medications taken for Kallmann syndrome and Hypogonadotrophic Hypogonadism.
Since the medications we take are required life long we do not have to pay the prescription charge each time we pick up our medication.
Ask your pharmacy for a copy of the “Help with health costs” booklet (HC11). It can also be downloaded from the Department of Health website at:
or direct from this website:
To apply for a Medical Exemption certificate (Medex) ask your GP for a copy of the form FP92A. Your doctor will have to sign the form and you can then send off for your Medical Exemption certificate which lasts for 5 years. It is up to you to renew the certificate when the time comes.
In the medical exemption categories we come under the “diabetes and other forms of hypopituitarism” category.
